Friday, Dec. 7 - Quiz on conditionals and sentence conbining

Monday, Dec. 10 & Wed. Dec. 12 - Work on and correct review for final exam

Friday - Dec. 14 - Listening Section of Final Exam

Monday Dec. 17th - Grammar Section of Exam

Wed. Dec. 19th - (Optional) - Individual Appointments to see final exams/grades These will also be posted online.

ATTENTION!!

I just corrected the last assignments and only about half of the students handed them in!!

There are also a few students who haven't handed in work in several weeks.

BE SURE TO HAND IN ANY MISSING WORK BY WED., NOV. 28th;  I will not accept it after that!

The last two assignments were:
1.Schedule for Spring semester (Selection of classes) and
2.Sentence combining The Col. Sanders Story. word processed.

I will also collect the sentence combining on the beige sheet  (Ex. Mr. X ate too much, so he got indigestion.)  I saw   a lot of blank papers in class with students filling answers.  You don't learn anything that way!!

Homework - Wed. Nov. 28th

Write a 1 page (or longer) essay using one of the prompts given in class.  This should be word processed and double spaced.
Use 5 connectors (Studied in class: a transition word, conjunction, or adverb clause)  This means you will be combining sentences.
UNDERLINE THESE CONNECTORS

Read and study Pages 416-418 and do Ex. 1,2,3,4, and 5  Chapter 20 Conditionals

I will be out of town on Friday, Nov. 16 so my class will not meet.

UCC is in session, so your other classes will meet.

Read Chapter 16 Coordinating conjunctions and do the following exercises: 1,2,3,4,6,7, 10, and 18 Write out any that are not fill in the blank.

Complete the packet on sentence combining (Handed out in class)

Ex. 57 and 58 are good for this and you can self correct

Monday, Nov. 12 Homework

Make a copy for me of your schedule (selected classes) for next semester.  Use the worksheet we had in class.  I either want a clear photocopy of that sheet or transfer  it in your own writing on another sheet.

In chapter 13 Adjective clauses, do exercises 14,24,26,27, and 35.

Read and review Adjective clauses Chapter 13, Pgs. 270-273 and do exercises 2,3,4,6,7, and 8

IMPORTANT - Class Monday, Nov. 5th

Hello Students,
I hope none of you had damage or injuries from Storm Sandy.  Currently, the Cranford Campus is closed.   Springfield Ave. in Cranford is closed also.

If the Cranford Campus has not opened by Monday,  my class is rescheduled for the Elizabeth Campus The Lessner Building (The original building in Elizabeth) on Jersey Ave. Room 224.
